For the complete 12-hour pathway, submit the registration form for your Part 1 date, then submit it a second time for your Part 2 date. Part 1 must be completed or accepted before attending Part 2.
Classroom Enrollment Instructions
How to Register for the Complete 12-Hour Program
Choose a course, date, and location for each component on the central schedule. Submit one registration for Part 1 and a second for Part 2; pay $100 cash for each class when you attend.
Choose Part 1
View the schedule, select an eight-hour Driver Improvement class, and submit its individual registration. Check the confirmation for your date, time, and venue.
Choose Part 2
Select a separate four-hour RADEP class scheduled after Part 1. Return to the same registration form and submit it again for Part 2. You may reserve both dates in advance; Part 1 must be completed before you attend Part 2.
Attend Both Sessions
Bring a valid driver's license or photo ID, $100 cash for each class, and your accepted Part 1 certificate to Part 2 if required.
Before You Arrive
Confirm your exact class date, location, and arrival instructions. Arrive 10–15 minutes early. Both classroom components are taught in English.
CDL License Holders
These regular Driver Improvement and RADEP classes do not meet Virginia DMV commercial-driver-specific improvement requirements for CDL holders.

What Can You Expect From Your Two RADEP Classes?
Experienced instruction, practical driving topics, and clear guidance for documenting your completion.
Part 1: Defensive-Driving Skills
Your eight-hour session uses AAA Driver Improvement materials to examine driving risks and safer choices. Instructor-led training gives you an opportunity to ask questions and connect the course topics to everyday traffic situations.
Part 2: Attitudes and Decisions
The four-hour RADEP component uses National Safety Council Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving materials to address judgment, emotions, and driving behavior. The aim is to help you recognize risky reactions and consider safer responses to pressure, frustration, and conflict.
After Successful Completion
Follow the certificate instructions provided for each component and retain your completion documents. If an earlier eight-hour certificate satisfies Part 1, keep that accepted certificate with your new Part 2 documentation.
Confirm who must receive your proof, how to submit it, and the deadline. Allow time for both classes, certificate handling, and submission; course attendance does not guarantee a court outcome.

Already Completed Eight Hours?
You May Need Only the 4-Hour RADEP Part 2
If you previously completed a qualifying Virginia eight-hour Driver Improvement Clinic, including at another school, that certificate may satisfy RADEP Part 1. Acceptance is not automatic. Verify that the court or referring authority will accept your specific certificate before registering.

Attend the four-hour RADEP class in person, typically 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. Tuition is $100 cash only.

Does Classroom RADEP Award Virginia DMV Safe-Driving Points?
RADEP Part 2 does not independently award +5 DMV safe-driving points. Eligibility for the separate eight-hour Driver Improvement clinic depends on the student's reported reason for attendance and DMV rules.
